My Books
From time to time, I write books and am grateful that people find them worthwhile. Check them out below.
Beloved: A Journey of Prayer
You are invited to a prayer journey, a journey to experience God’s love for you. This invitation is given to you by God out of God’s deep desire for you. Something is stirring within you, preparing you for God’s work.
Where will God lead you on this journey? You do not know, but you can trust that this journey will take you deeper into the heart of God’s love. Welcome! God welcomes you joyfully. This is a journey God longs to take you on. Begin this journey today.
This book contains six chapters of prayer material, each containing seven prayer invitations. These individual prayer invitations could be used for one or more days of prayer, with a recommended prayer time of thirty to forty-five minutes. Each prayer invitation has a section for you to journal, take notes, or respond to what you have experienced in your time of prayer.
This book is also an introduction to and a taste of the Ignatian Exercises, a beautiful nine-month journey of prayer. If you’ve prayed the Exercises, you’ll love this book. People who pray with this book often continue to pray the Ignatian Exercises.
Befriended by Jesus: The Ignatian Spiritual Exercises
Ignatius of Loyola had a profound encounter with Jesus while praying through the Gospel stories. Jesus came alive to him and befriended him. That encounter was life-changing, and it influenced the lives of others he guided through this journey of prayer. This journey of prayer has been stewarded through the years by the Jesuits, and now Christians from various backgrounds are discovering this beautiful way of prayer.
Each year, people embark on this retreat in everyday life, experiencing their belovedness, finding new life and freedom from the things that hold them back, and then entering into Jesus’ life by praying through the Gospel stories with Holy Imagination.
You are invited to join Jesus on this same journey. This book provides all the prayer materials you will need for the nine-month journey, except for guidance from an Ignatian-trained spiritual director.
This book is based on Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises, following in the tradition of Joseph Tetlow, seeking to retain the deeper Ignatian insights while making them accessible to contemporary readers.
